Interset Launches Threat Analytics Cloud & Secure Data Gateway at ISF 2015 in Atlanta

Provides Easy and Secure Big Data Analytics-Based Threat Detection so Companies of All Size Can Detect, Surface and Stop Advanced Threats Including Compromised Accounts and Insider Attacks

Ottawa, ON, Nov 6, 2015 – Big data-based user and entity behavior analytics (UEBA) and machine learning are fundamentally transforming security by creating intelligent and automated detection systems for targeted attackers, insider and other advanced threats, yet many organizations cannot easily resource the architecture necessary to operationalize this ground-breaking technology. Interset is tackling this challenge with the introduction of the Interset Threat Analytics Cloud (I-TAC) and Interset Data Gateway (I-DG), launching next week in conjunction with the Information Security Forum Nov. 8-10 in Atlanta. Along with the launch, Interset is offering ISF members a special 90-day I-TAC threat detection service for no cost or obligation so that security teams can see first-hand the power of analytics-based threat detection.

Interset’s new cloud deployment model includes the I-TAC, ISO27001 certified secure cloud and the new Interset Data Gateway (I-DG). I-DG is deployed on-premise as a data collection, aggregation, anonymization, encryption, and communication program. It utilizes Interset’s unique anonymized data analytics capability, where all behavioral analytic models are run against anonymized log and metadata with the same level of visibility and accuracy. All data remains private, secure, and completely in control of the customer, who enjoys a very fast time to value with a big data security platform.

Gartner reports that by 2016, more than 25% of global organizations will adopt big data analytics for security and fraud detection with a significant impediment to deployment being the requirement for investment in substantial hardware and architecture expertise. Yet, organizations of all sizes must protect highly sensitive data and many want to deploy UEBA to detect advanced threats today. Interset’s I-DG and I-TAC platform offer an easy to deploy and low cost of ownership solution.

ISF members who want to learn firsthand the power of UEBA have the option to deploy a 90-day no cost/no obligation threat detection service through I-TAC. ISF members can choose a single data source (AD, AD via Splunk, or Application/Repository log data) threat detection service, deploy the I-DG program onsite and securely connect to I-TAC. The Interset Threat Analytics Cloud will regularly analyze the data and report on any risks or threats surfaced, offering an “event context view” so that security teams understand the who, what, where and when of the threat.

“Interset’s I-DG beta customers report that this new approach is an ideal way to implement a big data platform when security teams cannot wait for internal architectures to be deployed,” said Interset CTO Stephan Jou.

“The fact that all data remains anonymized while in the cloud makes it much easier for data owners to approve sensitive log and metadata related to IP, trade secrets, PII and PHI data being used in a cloud deployment. Our innovation is to combine unique and patented risk scoring based on users, machines, application, and file anomalies and their relationships with an operationally realistic deployment model that totally protects client data, while offering a complete big data threat detection platform,” Jou added. “We are so confident in the power and efficacy of this system that we will offer ISF members our service for 90 days at no charge or obligation.”

If you are attending ISF, join Stephan Jou, who will present “Real world data science, case studies for cyber-attack detection and prevention” on Monday, Nov 9 at 14:00, Hanover Hall F.G. Or visit our booth number 24 at ISF Atlanta. ISF members who are not attending the event but wish to learn more about Interset’s ITAC 90 offer, register here.
